Adult Ministry

We believe that important parts of our faith are continued spiritual growth, meaningful worship, community fellowship & inviting others, mission & service, and stewardship of our time & resources. We have a variety of ways to get involved at Bethel in each of these areas.

WORSHIP

Our weekly worship service begins at 10:40a.m.in the sanctuary and is a blend of traditional and contemporary music. The services typically include a children's story and often have visual or experiential components as well.

NURTURE

Sunday School

We offer various Sunday school classes for adults right out of high school through senior citizens and all those in between. Classes meet at 9:30a.m. and one of our greeters can help you find the class that is right for you.

Small Groups

We also have several small groups that meet in homes. These groups vary in size and frequency of meeting, but they provide another opportunity for learning, prayer and fellowship. Please call the church for more information about our small groups.

Bible/Book Studies

During the year, there are several Bible and book studies available for people to join. To find out when these meet go to the church calendar or call the church for more information.

STEWARDSHIP TRUSTEES

We feel called to be good stewards of the time and resources that God has given us. One of the ways that we work at this as a congregation is through our Ministry of Stewardship which includes our Trustees. Together, this group oversees our giving plan and financial needs as a congregation as well as the upkeep and needs related to our facility.

INVITE / FELLOWSHIP

We enjoy spending time together as a congregation and want to invite others to join us as well. Because of this, we have a number of opportunities to spend time together. Some of these include potlucks, our annual church picnic, Restaurant Group (a once a month outing to a restaurant on a Friday night to eat together), and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (an evening in which the volunteer host family knows how many are coming for dinner but not who it will be).

MISSION/SERVICE

We believe in the importance of sharing about our faith in both word and deed. Each November is Mission Month at Bethel and serves as a time for us to reflect on and support mission across the street and around the world. We have missionaries that we support, but we also participate in local mission and service opportunities as well. Bethel Homework Help is a after school tutoring program to assist kids in need with their homework. We also participate in Mennonite Disaster Service, Habitat for Humanity and have The Odd Jobs Crew that assists people in need with repairs to their homes. Our Mennonite Women's group gets together to make comforters for those in need and quilts for auction to support Adriel and Mennonite Central Committee. We also support and serve at the West Liberty Cares food pantry and Our Daily Bread soup kitchen.
